A.B.M Golam Mostafa Munshi: Keya Cosmetics Ltd., an ISO certified company and also at the same time a reputed one in the cosmetics &toiletries products manufacturing &selling sector in the country. We started our business in the year 1996 as a private Ltd. Company and soon grew into prominence by the virtue of our distinguished quality products and customer friendly approaches. All our products are derived through rigorous research and each of them is incorporated with globally recognized quality norms. And Ms. Khaleda Pervin is the Managing Director respectively.

The other sister concerns of Keya Group are Keya Spinning Mills Ltd., Keya Cotton Mills ltd., Keya Yarn Mills Ltd., Keya Sweater Ltd, Knit Composite Ltd and Poly Advertising Ltd.

REFLECTIONNEWS: How many products of Keya Cosmetics do you have in the market? Please tell us about the market scenario of those products.

A.B.M Golam Mostafa Munshi: At present we have as many as 17 products in the market and for producing those products 100 nos. basic raw materials are needed to procure. Among which 41 items are procured from the renowned local suppliers and rest 49 items are  procured through import mainly from England, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Singapore, China, India, Sri Lanka etc. the name of  products are: Keya Super Beauty Soap, Life Guard Soap, Keya Glycerin Laundry Soap, Keya Power Ball Soap, Keya Prickly Heat Powder, Keya Ice Magic Color Power, Keya Natural Care Shampoo, Keya dandruff Control shampoo, Keya Active Tooth Paste, Keya Super Saloon Leather Shaving Cream, Keya Leather Shaving Cream, Keya 777 Laundry Soap, Keya Refined Coconut Oil, Keya Petroleum Jelly, Keya  Lip-gel, Keya Glycerin, Keya Pomade, Keya Lemon Detergent powder, Keya White Plus Detergent Powder, Keya Super Excel, Detergent Powder, Keya Super Jet Detergent Powder, Keya Soap Noodles etc. The market scenario of our products is well and we are in second position in terms of selling volume. The growth rate of our cosmetics and toiletries is six to seven percent which indicates a good sign. Our local business growth is 22% as well as 70% growing in export. We always take care regarding the quality of our products, reasonable price and attracting good packing. Our various products are supplied to the distributors and then it goes to the whole sellers/retailers. As our products are necessary for everyone so our target clients are the people of the country. Alongside domestic marketing we also export our products namely Keya Beauty Soap, Keya Detergent to the countries such as India, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Africa and so on.

REFLECTION NEWS: What impediments do you face in carrying out your business activities?

A.B.M Golam Mostofa: No, right this moment we do not face any difficulties to carry out our business activities. To me the business atmosphere is congenial and we are doing business well.

REFLECTION NEWS: Apart from Keya Cosmetics there are many leading companies including a multinational one are also marketing their products. In this context do you face any completion among yourself?

A.B.M Golam Mostofa Munshi: It is right that there are many companies are in market and in real sense obviously we think them as our competitor. We have to sell our products through competition and at the same time here I must say that the consumers have right the choice to decide the quality products at an affordable price. So we do not care about that. If our products are cost effective and a qualitative one the consumers must purchase our products.

REFLECTIONNEWS: Do you like to make any comment regarding the soaring price spiral daily commodities? Do you think it make any impact on selling your products?

A.B.M Golam Mostofa: Obviously it creates an adverse impact on our products selling. If the trend of increasing daily needs continue our consumers must become frugal to buy products to some extent. They will be compelling led to reduce their monthly expenditure for purchasing the products like soap, detergent and so on. The import cost of raw materials increases due to the upward value of dollar and for this we compel to increase our products cost as well. So increasing of daily necessities naturally has a negative impact on our products.

REFLECTIONNEWS: Do you have any program under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)?

A.B.M Golam Mostofa: Yes, we have CSR program. In Keya we believe in our responsibilities towards the society we operate in. All our activities are therefore directed to the wellbeing of the society in general. As part of the social commitment the company provided financial support to the organizations to the social height and our sponsored popular magazine program “ETTADI” which is being telecasted through Bangladesh Television and through which economic support is being rewarded to the real poor and helpless people selected from across the country. We also provide various forms of medical aided program towards the poor people for medical treatment financial support to Elders Welfare Association, Education, Sports and Cultural arena as well.

REFLECTIONNEWS: Please tell us about your future business plan.

A.B.M Golam Mostofa: We have planned to diversify our business and in next June we want to initiate a new project. We are also hopeful to introduce few more cosmetics /toiletries items in our products lineup which are as follows: Toilet Cleaner, Body Lotion, Baby Lotion, Liquid Soap,Mosquito Coil, Liquid Blue, and Hair Remover.
