Staff Correspondent: Standard Chartered Bank has recently introduced its first Saadiq Financial Kiosk at Banasree in the city.
The customers of the bank who prefer Islamic banking options will be able to avail all types of banking services as it is equipped with an ATM, a billspay machine, a contact centre hotline and internet banking Kiosk, said a press release.
Non-Saadiq customers will also have full access to the Kiosk. Information on Islamic financial products will be available, it said.
Wasim Akhtar Saifi, global head of Islamic banking and consumer banking of the bank, formally inaugurated the financial Kiosk while the bank’s general manager for Islamic banking in Bangladesh Kamran Rahman Sunjoy, and general manager for new business, among others, were present on the occasion.
Wasim Akhtar said: “The bank will expand its Islamic banking services in the Muslim countries including Banglad- esh.”
“We are committed to bring world-class Shariah compliant products to our valued customers; serve their financial needs and provide them with satisfaction based on religious beliefs,” he said.
“This is a reflection of our commitment to our customers in Bangladesh,” he added. The bank started to provide Islamic banking services in Bangladesh back in 2004.
The new brand name ‘Saadiq’ was introduced in Bangladesh in 2007. Under the umbrella of Saadiq, Standard Chartered Bangladesh now offers full range of products comprising of both deposit accounts and financing products for its customers.
