DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid has asked Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) to ensure transparency and accountability at all steps of recruitment examinations so that talented people can be recruited in the republic.
He said this when PSC Chairman Ekram Ahmed made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here yesterday.
PSC is a constitutional body, the President said and urged the chairman and all members to discharge their responsibilities keeping confidence in the constitution,” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meeting.
During the meeting, Ahmed apprised President Hamid of the overall activities of PSC and said recruitment process for cadre and non-cadre posts is now being digitized to cut recruitment time and maintain transparency.
If any problem is created during examinations in any regional centre, PSC is now solving those through video conferencing, he added.
He told the President that PSC now prepares multiple sets of questions for examinations and which set of questions will be used for a scheduled examination is determined through holding lottery just 30 minutes before the beginning of the examination.
Ahmed also told the President that steps have also been taken to maintain secrecy of the result management, including the evaluation.
