PM being honored because of country’s continued progress: Minister

DHAKA:  Railway Minister Md Mujibul Haq said that it was because of Bangladesh’s continued progress that the global community was honoring Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The honor bestowed was not only on her but belonged to the entire Bengali nation. He reminded the audience that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was not awarded for the first time rather she had been awarded 27 times by different organizations, so far.

The minister was speaking as chief guest at a meeting at the Public Library auditorium. The gathering was held to felicitate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her receipt of The UN’s highest award “Champion of the Earth.”

The meeting was organized by the Dhaka Division of Human Rights Review Society.

The minister also reminded Begum Zia that there was no option but elections if anybody wanted to go to power. “Your violent tactics including killing of foreigners will not work,” he reminded her.
