Khandoker Jamil Uddin is a well known face in the business and industrial arena and at the same time he is a committed entrepreneur of readymade garments (RMG) as well as other sector too. He is an honorable sponsor director of Dhaka Bank. Alongside his business activities he is involved with social and development activities and especially he has been contributing enough to the development of Sports. Khandaker Jamil Uddin is the Chairman of A & A Accessories Ltd. Judge Concern Limited and J R M International (UK) Ltd. Apart from this he a director of Shanta Garments Ltd. STS Education Group Ltd. Shanta Properties Ltd. STS Holdings Ltd. and Apollo Hospital, Dhaka. According to Khondoker Jamil if we want to bring our economy in a better position we should work in a concerted way being inspired with in the spirit of patriotism. A negative impact was fallen on our garments industry after the terrorists’ attack on Twin tower of America in September 11,2001. Although it happened around nine years back but we had to come out from this situation by applying timely plan and its implementation. Apart from this, economic meltdown has now become a great threat to world economy and Bangladesh is not beyond this. We have to face these challenges very carefully. Side by side the political unrest in our country should be resolved on urgent basis and proper and effective initiative should be taken with a view to develop the law and order situation. With this end in view the administration should be more unflinching and it could get better result if the police forces work as associate. Regarding market economy he said, “it’s a part of capitalism Market economy is there where the existence of capitalism. If we have controlled free market I think we should not have to face any difficulty with free market economy. Aside this there should be a control over importing foreign goods. The government should give the highest facilities for the local and foreign investors”. As a director of a private bank Mr. Jamil thinks it is very important to sanction a loan to client after having a proper investigation about him. Besides he thinks the concerned authorities are discussing enough for reducing the bank interest rate but before that they should take stern action against the loan defaulter. The concerned authorities should take timely initiative and also impose some strict rules and regulations regarding default loans and if it could be done then the rate of bank interest would be possible to reduce. The government as well as the financial institutions should take actual initiatives in a bid to resolve the matter.
Mr. Jamil Uddin is also a sports lover. He was a member of Bangladesh Cricket control Board, Chairman of Game Development (2003-2006), a member secretary and Chairman of CCDM (2002-2006), a member Secretary and Chairman of Corporate Cricket League, The present cricket counselor of Noakhali district, Vice President of executive committee of Dhaka Mohamedan Sporting Club, President of Depali Juba Shanga of Premier Cricket League, Vice president of Surjatarun Club, Director of BGMEA (2005-2006) and Chairman, sports committee. At present he is the vice president of Hockey Federation and also Vice President of Bangladesh Olympic Association, Senior Vice Chairman of Karak Natya Samproday, a permanent member of Uttara Club, Dhaka Club, Gulshan Club, and Fu wang club. Apart from this he is the treasurer of Bangladesh Sociological Association and life member of Bangladesh Diabetic Samite. He earned huge reputation in Cricket and Football game during his study University (1981-1987). He was a regular sports man of second division cricket league in 1985-1992. He traveled Russia, French, England, Malaysia, Spain, Germany, Holland, Belgium, China, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and so on. He received reception, certificates of many socio cultural organizations along with Arthakiantha Business Award. In his personal life he is a father of one son and one daughter. His spouse Mrs. Afroja Begum is currently carrying out her responsibility as an Assistant Professor of Government Begum Badrunnesa College.
