Mr. Jahid Akbar Chowdhury is one of the leading business personalities of the country. He has been contributing significantly to the growth of our national economy by exporting garments goods abroad. A former senior police officer now Chairman of Dynasty Group has entered into the business by establishing a small size of sweater knitting projects namely Dynasty Knit Fashion Ltd. in the year after voluntary retirement from government job. Mr. Jahid Akbar Chowdhury’s father’s name is Late Ali Ahmed Chowdhury and mother’s name is Late Afazunnesa. Born on March 1, 1948 at village Khandakia, Chakaripara (Chowdhury Bari) under Hathazari upazilla of Chittagong district.

By constant guidance and leadership this unit has flourished rapidly with its name and fame. Millennium Sweater Ltd. has been established as the 2nd unit of Dynasty Group in 2000. For the best quality and excellent performance this unit has been awarded international ISO 9001: 2000 certificate by Orion Registrar, INC, USA.

Gradually in the 2005, the 3rd unit of this group Dynasty Sweater (BD) Ltd. has started its function in the own industrial building in a separate campus at Ankpara, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka. This industrial building features modern architectural design with excellent facilities, fully in compliance as per code of conduct of international norms and standard. At present five thousand employees are working in Dynasty Group which is one of the largest and leading sweater exporters of Bangladesh. Mr. Jahid Akbar Chowdhury is also carrying out his responsibilities as the CEO of JNZ International (a trade wing of Dynasty Group).

Alongside business activities Mr. Jahid Akbar Chowdhury is involved in many socio-cultural organizations. He is a Lifetime Member of Chittagong Press Club, Chittagong Club, Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka, Payob Hazi Abdul Gani Ucchha Biddalaya, Muradnagar, Comilla and Mohakhali Girls High School, Hathazari, Chittagong. He is also Vice-President and Lifetime Member of PRADIP (Project for Rural Area Development and Improvement of Poor People) Monipuri Para, Tejgaon, Dhaka. He is he Vice-President, Chattagram Mohanagari Krira Sangstha, Member, Chittagong Rifle Club, Member, Health Club, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka, Founder Sponsor of Chittagong Women Hand Ball League and Director of BGMEA (2009-2010).

Mr. Jahid Akbar Chowdhury is author of a volume of poetry book namely “Antarey Bahirey” published in February, 2010. This book was launched on February 12 at the Bangla Foundation, Dhaka in which many eminent literacy personalities of the country were attended. He is the Chief Editor “Kabita Sankranti” (a little magazine) which was launched in 2007 at the National Press Club, Dhaka. The eminent literary personality Mr. Sunil Gangapadhay was kind enough to attend the program as Chief Guest. He is Director of The First News; an English monthly news magazine.

Mr. Jahid Akbar Chowdhury has been venerated by many socio-cultural organizations for his outstanding contribution to the growth of our economic development as well as the society as a social worker. He has visited many countries of the world so far for business and personal purposes including USA, UK, Germany, Sweden, France, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, India and Singapore.
