Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid, a man of generous personality was born on January 12, 1947 in a respectable muslim family of Lolbaria village of Sadar South thana of Comilla district. His father Late Haji Ali Miah was a government service holder. Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid is the second son of his parents. A very well known personality in the trade, commerce and industrial arena Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid is currently Chairman of East of East West Industrial Park Limited and Managing Director of Fit Elegance. He did his B.Sc  Honours and M.Sc in Chemistry from Rajshahi University in 1970. Apart from this he earned degree in Marketing from Newjercy Saint Peter College, USA and Later he worked as Chemist at MALLINCK ROBT in Newjercy Saint City of USA since 1974.

Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid came back from United States of America in 1978 and started his career as a Businessman through 100% export oriented handicraft industry. At present he has two handicrafts industry in Dhaka, Tangail and Narshindi. He began garment business at the beginning of 1985 and right now he owns seven garments unit in Gazipur. He has also a 100% export oriented Textile industries at Savar.

Among the Bangladeshi garments businessman Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid introduced first 100% export oriented Blazer factory which has made a new dimension in the field of RMG industry. As he has contributed significantly in the field of Ready Made Garment sector Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid was honored four times by the government of Bangladesh as Commercially Important Person (CIP). As the Founder Chairman of BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) he performed his responsibilities with credibility. At present he is a Vice President of Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and also Convenor of Curriculum Committee, BGMEA. Mr. Harun-Ar-Rashid is involved with various social welfare activities and also helps as a patroniser of different educational institutions. He traveled 28 countries in the world including USA, UK, China.

The Laboratory of East West Industrial Park Ltd. is fully equipped and its ETP is in full operation now.
