Dr. M.A. Hannan Feroz is a renowned educationist who has been contributing significantly in the field of education since a longtime. Born in October, 01, 1956. Dr. Hannan Feroz hails from Baraia village of Rajapur Thana under Jhalakathi district. His father’s name is Late Fazlul Hoque Mia and mothers name is Mrs. Rowsonara Hoque. He passed S.S.C and H.S.C in 1971 and 1973, B.Com Honors in Management on 1976 and M.Com in Marketing from University of Dhaka. Later on in 2001 he did his PhD in Marketing (Thesis “Rationalization in Marketing”) from London Institute of Technology & Research and Stamford University & College Group in 2001. Dr. Hannan Feroz also did his I.E.M (Education Management) from Harvard University in 2005.

Dr. M.A. Hannan Feroz is the Founder President of Stamford University Bangladesh. He was also the Vice-Chancellor of the same University since 2002 to May 2008. He is an Ex-Chairman Board of the Editor, The Daily Amader Shomoy (2005-2007), ST V US (2005-2007), Principal Stamford College (1994-2001), Lecturer, Stamford College Group, Malaysia (1987 to 1993) and so on. An Editor and publisher of the Daily Bangladesh Shomoy Mr. Hannan Feroz is also the president, Stamford Trust, Founder President, Stamford College Bangladesh.

A man of versatile qualities Dr. M.A Hannan Feroz has involvement with some organizations abroad too and few of them are: as Honorary Director, International Studies Division (i) London Institute of Technology- U.S.A and (ii) Standard Institute of IT & Business- USA, Consultant, and Stamford group U.S.A, Honorary Program Director, London Institute of Technology & Research – UK. He is also visiting professor of Marketing Department, Stamford University, CA, USA and visiting fellow of Marketing Department Wisconsin University, Oshkosh, USA.

A former Vice President (elected) of Sir Salimullah Hall Students Union, University of Dhaka, and Dr. M.A Hannan Feroz is also a member of Executive Committed & Life member of Dhaka University Alumni Association. He is a Member of Executive Committee and Life member of Salimullah. Muslim Hall Alumni Association, President, South Bengal Youth Welfare Association, General member, Bangla Academy and Corporate member, Dhaka Club. He has membership in different libraries abroad including British Library, London UK, Library of Congress Washigton D.C USA, New York Library, USA, Library of Dublin, Ireland and State Library in Moscow, Russia.

To his credit Dr. M.A. Hannan Feroz has a number of publications & Articles. He is the author of “Only National Unity & Proper education can lead our Country towards the Total Development which we deserve From Last Half a Century published in 2002 by publication cell of Stamford Research & Monitoring Division, RMD. He wrote articles Knowledge Based Education, Against the Odds: Professional Development and Innovation under Less- than Ideal Conditions in Journal of Technology and Teacher Education USA, The official journal of the society for information Technology and Teacher Education, (SITE), USA, Distributed Cognition and Educational practice, an article was also published in a Journal of Interactive Learning Research, USA. In 2003, he wrote article on Private University in Bangladesh and rising of Development Consciousness’ and in 2004 “Need for uniform knowledge management for world peace” in a local English Daily, The New Nation. ‘Dhakar Charsho Bosor’ was firstly published on Ekushey Boi Mela’2009 which was edited by him.

Besides his professional activities Dr. M.A Hannan Feroz is also involved in various socio-cultural organizations and he has been contributing a lot for the wellbeing of the common people as part of his social commitment; And for this he has been honored at home and abroad several times and received many Awards/ Crests including center for Excellent Award- 2005 for Fostering International Collaboration and promoting Global Education is awarded by Clafin University, SC, USA. Apart from this, he received Arthakantha Business Award- 2002, Certificate of Excellence- Award- 2002, Education Award- 2003, Soka University, Japan, Television Dorshok Forum Award- 2003, Excellence Award- 2003 for 1st International Conference on ‘The Teaching of English in Bangladesh: Policy Pedagogy & Practice, Ananna Cultural Award- 2003 EECE Education Award- 2003, Sodesh Sangskritik Award- 2003, Helping the children of Asia Award-2004, Excellence Award-2004 for 2nd International Conference on ‘The Teaching of English in Bangladesh: Policy Pedagogy & Practice, The Industry Business Award-2004, Bengal Studies Conference Award-2005, Center For Excellent Award-2004 for fostering global education and understanding, By Clafin University, SC USA, Atish Dipankar Gold Medal- 2005, Sher-e-Bangla Smriti Padak, Mohatma Oshini Kumar Dutta Smirity Padak-2008 and Osmani Smrity Padak-2009. In personal life Dr. Hannan Feroz is married and blessed with two daughters.
