Delwar Jaham Jantu is one of the leading celebrities of the film industry who has been contributing in this sector for over three decades. A renowned Film Personality Delwar Jahan Jhantu is widely known as Film Director who directed sixty one full Length Bengali Films so far. His cnormous contribution to our film industry is incomparable. Born in June 18, 1949, Mr. Delwar Jahan hails form Mourail village of Braman Baria district. His father’s name is late Abu Md. Ayub and mother’s name is late Hasna khatun. He did his Diploma in 1968 from Pak German Technical. At present he lives at Moghbazar in Dhaka with his beloved wife Sheuli Jahan and two sons Imrul Sahan Saimon, Yamin Jahan Sraban and one daughter Jannati Mehjabin Nur Barsha. A valiant- freedom fighter Mr. Delwar Jahan Jhantu used to render songs of inspiration in different Freedom Fighter Training Camps as a regular singer of “Bangladesh Sanskritik Sangstha” and the post Independence Period he established various Cultural Organizations. He used to pass those days amidst operating organizations along with cultural activities and writings. Althongh he entered in the Film World in 1972 but emerged as Film Director in 1979 with the film ‘Banduk’ in which he himself wrote story, dialogue, script etc.
As a story writer he wrote stories, scripts and dialogues of around three hundred films so far and also wrote two thousand songs approximately in films. He has also shown his efficiency as music director of three films which are Hati Amar sathe, Nagh Mahal and Harano Prem. Mr. Jahan also produced thirty five films as producer under the banner of M/S S.D Production. He is undoubtedly a skilled film maker who over the years did social, Royal, Fantasy, Folk, contemporary Action film, film based on magic, Snake, mythology, Arabian Nights and above all pure love based films. Mr. Delwar Jahan also worked abroad as a Film Director. He Produced a film jointly in West Bengal of India as a Director A famous producer Sushan, Waker of Australia invited him for a ‘shooting’ of his (Jhantu) film.
In recognition of his great contribution to the cultural arena Mr. Delwar Jahan Jhantu received many awards/ crests from various socio-cultural organizations. He was also awarded form the government for his achievement in film industry. He was elected Executive Committee Member twice of Bangladesh Film Producers & Distributors Association. He is also a life member of Bangladesh Film Director Association and Bangladesh Film Club. Mr. Delwar Jnhan Jhantu was given special honor at a Film Festival organized by Channel I. He was the honorable Chairman of National Film Producers & Distributors Association Award Committee (2007-2008).
