Mr. Deen Mohammad, a renowned and well-experienced industrialist of the country who has been contributing a lot to the growth of our national economy since long time. As a man of great integrity and sincerity, he has been carrying out his responsibilities as an entrepreneur in various sectors of industries.  Mr. Deen Mohammad, son of Late Hazi Noor Mohammad, was born in 3rd August, 1938. He started his business career in 1960 with trading business. He entered into industries in 1962 and with the passage of time he has been able to establish himself firmly in business arena and pioneering in industrialization of the country.

He is the founder Chairman of Phoenix Group of Industries. Over the time, he developed his entrepreneurship capability and established largest conglomerate, Phoenix Group. The business operations of the Phoenix Group are: Phoenix Insurance Company Ltd., Phoenix Textile Mills Ltd., Phoenix Fabrics Ltd., Phoenix Garments Ltd., Phoenix Finance & Investments Ltd., Eastern Dyeing & Calendaring Works Ltd., Apollo Ishpat Complex Ltd., Phoenix Spinning Mills Ltd. and Rangdhanu Spinning Mills Ltd. The Group of Industries has been generating employment opportunities on a regular basis. This Group Authority has a plan to diversify Group business rapidly in the coming years.

Besides, he was the former Chairman of The City Bank Ltd.- a leading commercial Bank in the private sector in Bangladesh.

Mr. Deen Mohammad, Chairman of Phoenix Finance & Investments Ltd., one of the leading financial institutions of the country is his brainchild and he succeeded in establishing this institution with in a record short period of time. He also established a Brokerage House in the name of Phoenix Securities Ltd.

With a vision to promote country’s trade and industry, he was attached with various government and trade bodies including Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Committee for Formation of Draft Industrial Policy-1997, Ministry of Industries and former Member, Executive Committee of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Alongside business activities, Mr. Deen Mohammad is also involved in different socio-cultural organizations.  He is the former President of Lalbagh Sporting Club, Dhaka; former President of Rahmatgonj Sporting Club, Dhaka; former Member of Masjid Committee, Lalbagh Shahi Mosque & Jamia Qurania Arabia Madrasha; former Member of Governing Body, Dhaka Wonderers Club, Dhaka and Honorable life Member of Dhaka Club Limited, Dhaka.

He was awarded by Late Moulana Akram Kha Gold Medal (Industrialization) in 1991 and he was also awarded by Jagadish Chandra Gold Medal in 1992. Recently, Phoenix Finance & Investments Limited has been awarded with the International Star Award for Quality (ISAQ) in the Gold Category from Business Initiative Directions (BID), a prominent business organization based in Madrid, Spain for its commitment to excellence, innovation, customer satisfaction, technology, leadership and strategic planning. He joined in the Prize Giving Ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland held on 06th September, 2010.
