RN Desk:Bangladesh will import three lakh tonnes of wheat from Russia, according to a decision taken at a meeting between Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander Vikentevich Mantitsky and Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder at the secretariat on Thursday.
Russia is keen to play a role in Bangladesh’s strive to achieve food security, a press release said quoting Mantitsky.
As per an initial decision, Russia will export three lakh tonnes of wheat to Bangladesh.
In the meeting, the food minister told the envoy that Bangladesh’s relations with Russia are very excellent and this relationship is gradually expanding in various fields including trade and investment.
They also discussed various issues such as Bangladesh’s economic development, expansion of bilateral trade and commerce.
