A two-day international Nazrul convention to be held on 24, 25 June

Staff Correspondent: A two-day international Nazrul convention marking the 90th year of composing the revolutionary poem “Bidrohi” (the rebel) by National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam will be held on 24, 25 June.

Nazrul Institute has organized the programme.

Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad said this at a press conference at PID conference room in the city on Wednesday, said a press release.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the convention as the chief guest at 10:00am on June 24 at the city’s Osmani Smriti auditorium.

The programme also include — Launching of Nazrul’s album with 200 photos of international standard, opening of 11 Nazrul Shangeet Compact Discs (CDs) with lyrics and holding of Nazrul convention in Rajshahi, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.

Besides, 36 Nazrul singers are taking training under the program
