Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Secretary for the Ministry of Environment and Forests handed over 1.5 lakh taka cheque to Abu Taher a community patrol team member of Sadhonpur for his bravery role in forest conservation at a daylong event in observation of the Co-Management Day 2016. USAID’s Climate-Resilient Ecosystems and Livelihoods (CREL) Project organized the ceremony at a city hotel in Cox’s Bazar. Md. Yunus Ali, Chief Conservator of Forests chaired and representatives of administration, forest department, development partners, non-government organizations, co-management organizations and private sector participated in the ceremony. There was a colorful exposition and similar installations looking at co-management processes, products and impacts to foster a variety of partnership opportunities between community conservationists and other groups.
