DHAKA: Rajdhani Unnyan Katripakkha (RAJUK) will build 8400 flats at Uttara with financial and technical support from Malaysia.
With the estimated cost of Taka 5,000 crore, the project will be completed in two-year time. The project is in the cabinet committee on government purchase, and work will start once the committee approves it.
The buildings under the project will be constructed using industrialized building system (IBS), cutting down the construction time significantly. Under this method, there will be system to store the rain water to use it in need.
The apartment project will be a self-sufficient one, with facilities like school, college, sewerage system plan, playing field, green space and solar system inside the project.
“We are working to implement the vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to ensure housing for everyone by 2021. With the implementation of this project a new technology like IBS will be introduced in our country for the first time,” GM Joynal Abedin Bhuiyan, chairman of RAJUK, told BSS.
