Prof. Dr. Kabir Hossain Talukder, A renowned Agri business personality

Prof. Dr. Kabir Hossain Talukder, a renowned educationist of the country comes from a respectable muslim family erarly on the morning of November 20, Tuesday in 1952. He was born under a clear sky after a violent winter at the village of Karatia under the district of Tangail. His father’s name is Late Bazlur Rahman Talukder and mother’s name is Late Maleka Khatun. Mr. Talukder is the 6th of eight sons of his parents. He got his S.S.C degree in 1968 from H.M Institution, Karatia. He got his H.S.C in 1970, B.Sc Ag (Hon’s) in 1973 and M.Sc Ag (Agril, Chemistry) in 1974 from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He stood first class second position in M.Sc Ag. Deg. He took his Ph. D. degree in 2003 from Soil, Water and Environmental Science department of Dhaka University. He also completed his post graduation degree from Belgrade. BGA degree from Thailand and Soil fertility management from USA. Prof Dr. Kabir Hossain Talukder was a Principal Scientific Officer, BARI, Gazipur. He also worked as a Treasurer, Registrar and Dean Faculty of Agriculture Biological Science and Technology of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Bio-Technology. He is the pioneer of Agribusiness in undergraduate and graduate level in Bangladesh.

 As he is a renowned educationist and internationally reputed Soil Scientist of the country Mr. Talukder has been contributing significantly to the development of our economy since a long time. At the same time he is a poet also. Meanwhile he has authored a few books of poetry which has already been acclaimed by all as a good read. He worked with different famous international consultants, such as; Dr. Sam Portch, Soil Specialist, CIDA, CANADA, Dr. D.L. Dev, Soil Specialist, FAO, Dr. A.H. Hunter, Florida, Prof. Dr. Mattrick, Bio-Chemist, Cornell University, USA and Dr. Stuinhuis, Water quality specialist, Cornell University, USA. He received many awards for his valuable contribution in the field of Agriculture and a few of the awards are: In 1997 he was accorded a reception with some other distinguish personality by Noboudoy Shishu Kishore Shangstha at which Honorable speaker M.A Hamid was present as chief guest. Rupakar Agribusiness in Bangladesh a reception organized by Chairman Bashimul Union, Borichong, Comilla in 2007 and in the same year he was also accorded a reception as Rupakar Agribusiness in Bangladesh by Proprietor & Educationist fellow at Noor Jahan Hotel, Comilla. He also received BBJS Award 2008 for most successful personality in Agribusiness, Bishwabiddalaya Porekroma Award 2008 as the most respectable educationist, Television Reporter Association Award – 2008 as the educationist of the year 2008. He received crest from Jhawail Awami League and different educational institute at Gopalpur, Tangail in 2009, received Gold Medal from Gopalpur Mukti Jodha Sangshad as a freedom fighter in 2009 and also received Bangladesh Media Bikash Society Award 2009.

Alongside his professional activities Dr. Kabir Hossain Talukder is also involved with many socio-cultural organizations. He was President of Gazipur Rotary club, Association for Bangladesh Agricultural Graduate in Canada. He was the Chairman of Finance committee, FUBANA, CANADA. He was Secretary of Gazipur Rotary club, and Joint Secretary General, Krishibid Association of Bangladesh. Gazipur Rifle’s club. He is a founder member of Gazipur Mohila College. Mr. Talukder is ea life member of Razia Sultana Girls High School, Gazipur, Gazipur club, Gazipur Rifle’s Club, Bangladesh Entomology Society. Bangladesh Association for Scientist O Scientific Society, Bangladesh Plant Breeding and Genetic Society, Bangladesh Horticulture Society and Bangladesh Soil Science Society. He is a member of Hortex Foundation and Member of Board of Governors of Bangladesh Chatra Kalyan Trust. Prof. Dr. Kabir Hossain Talukdar is a valiant freedom fighter. He traveled many countries for professional and personal purposes. The countries he visited are India, Yugoslavia, Greece, Italy, Germany, French, Nether land, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Thailand, USA and so on. Mr. Talukder always dreams a poverty and unemployment free Bangladesh and with this end in view he has chalked out various plans and programmes to expand Agriculture, Business and Education.

 Dr. Talukder married on 1978. His wife’s name is Fatema Panna kabir, basically she was a School Teacher, Mrs. Kabir worked in Canada under different organizations. Dr. Talukder is a father of two brilliant sons, his elder son name is Fahad Md. Faisal Kabir. A Computer Engineer who got his degree from Toronto University, Canada. Youngest son’s name is Farhan Md. Fahim Kabir, IBBA degree from schlock school of Business, under York University, Canada and both of them are working there.
