DHAKA, Nov 4, 2014 : Members of customs intelligence arrested a youth with 6-kg gold bars worth about Tk 3 crore from the Green Channel area of Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport here this morning.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Noor-e-Alam Siddique of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) confirmed the news saying, “The arrested passenger was identified as Zillur Rahman, 35, son of Mizan Rahman, an inhabitant of Kuara village of Shariatpur district.”
He was a passenger of Bangladesh Biman Airlines Limited (flight no BG-056). He arrived here from Rome of Italy at about 9:30 am.
“The gold bars, weighting one kg each, were found searching a bag kept in his possession,” the APBn official added.
A case was lodged with airport police station in this connection.
