Khaleda, BNP committed political suicide forging alliance with militants: Inu

DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu yesterday said Khaleda Zia and BNP clique committed political suicide by forging an alliance with “militants as well as Jamaat and Razakars”.

He made this remark while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion titled “International Recognition of Bangabandhu’s March 7 Speech and Global Upsurge of Bengali Sprite,” at a city hotel organized by SAARC Film Journalists Forum Bangladesh.

The information minister said Khaleda-BNP clique is out to sow a Pakistan’s seed in the independent Bangladesh by forming alliance with the militants and anti-liberation forces Jamaat-e-Islami. Because of this their existence is now out of country’s politics and power, he added.

Referring to Bangabandhu’s March 7 speech that is the main source of power for Bengali nation, Inu said Khaleda-BNP nexus has become the poisonous tree of militancy and communalism by making the alliance with militants, Jamaat.

He said there is no need to advocate those in country’s politics who don’t believe Bangabandhu as country’s founding father, declarer of independence, genocide in 1971 and also the three million martyrs of the country.

In order to study the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu, he said, Bangabandhu had taken full responsibility as the country’s elected representative when the East Bangla went to self rule.

After the worst massacre carried out by Pakistan army on the black night of March 25, 1971, the minister said Bangabandhu announced independence war with Pakistan on March 26 and after nine months of bloody war, Bangladesh became an independent state on December 16 in that year.

Freedom fighter Ahsanullah Moni, Dhaka North Awami Jubo League President Alhaj Md. Mainul Islam Khan Nikhil and Awami League leader Baloram Poddar took part in the discussion with SAARC Film Journalist Forum Bangladesh President Redwan Khandakar in the chair.
