Muilleoir said Bangladesh not only saved the lives of Rohingyas repressed by Myanmar army but also established a rare example of humanity by opening its borders for the forcibly displaced Myanmar people.

Moderated by Study Circle chairperson Syed Mozammel Ali, the seminar was addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, former Supreme Court Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik, members of Irish Legislative Assembly Chris Little and Mike Nesbit, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in London Muhammad Zulqar Nain and Awami League international affairs secretary Dr Shammi Ahmed.

The land minister said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led the nation to achieve freedom, while his worthy successor Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to achieve economic freedom of the country.

Deputy High Commissioner Zulqar Nain highlighted the different initiatives taken by Bangladesh to cope with climate change impacts.

Justice Manik said judiciary in Bangladesh is working independently, claiming that judiciary is playing a vital role in establishing rule of law in the country.
