Engr. Quazi Galive A. Sattar, an incredibly well known and highly respected personality in the business sector as well as among the common people and also a successful management executive.

Quazi Galive Abdus Sattar was born on 10th August 1954 to a respectable family in Chittagong. He was gifted with a brilliant and sharp mind. He completed his Secondary & Higher Secondary from Rajshahi Cadet College in the year of 1969 & 1971 respectively. He obtained his B.Sc. Engr. (Civil) degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1977 and completed his MURP degree in 1986.While doing his Masters, Mr.Galive Sattar started his own small company ITCL in 1981,which he built up into one of the largest and successful construction companies of today. Engr. Quazi Galive A, Sattar also served as an Assistant Professor in BUET for many years. Engr. Quazi Galive A, Sattar has a number of international publications on Low Income Urban Settlement to his credit. In spite of choosing business as his profession, Mr. Sattar admits to be a scholar at heart.

As mentioned above, Engr. Quazi Galive A. Sattar is the founder Chairman of Islam Trading Consortium Ltd (ITCL), one of the leading International construction companies in Bangladesh which has near about 2000 employees serving in various projects in Bangladesh, Dubai, Qatar. ITCL works on projects financed by Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank and other foreign-aided projects. ITCL works in various Government departments like RHD, LGED, BIWTA, BWDB, DHAKA WASA, etc. Under his guidance Islam Trading Consortium Ltd has successfully completed many Highways and Bridge Projects, among which are the Dhaka-Chittagong Road Project, Dhaka-Sylhet Road Project, Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Road Project, etc, Costal Embankment Projects, Emergency Cyclone Shelter Projects, Rehabilitation of 33 KV Sub-station Project, Water treatment plant Project, High rise Building projects like Construction of 39 storied CAR Parking Lot Cum Commercial Complex at Motijheel. The annual turnover of the company is near about Two Hundred Crore Taka.

Engr. Quazi Galive A. Sattar is the founder Managing Director of Woodland Apparels Ltd, a reputed organization in the RMG sector. More about 4000 employees serve under his execution in this company. He is also the Managing Director of Bangladesh Integrated Fishery and Poultry Ltd. and Rupshi Dairy and Agro-Fishery Complex Ltd. More about 1000 employees are serving in this organization. Annual turnover of this company is 150 crore taka in the field of Poultry and Dairy sector. This particular company was the first to introduce the internationally used “Floating Feed” for fish, under the brand name “Rupshi Fish Feed” in the Bangladeshi market, gaining high popularity instantly in the market.

In 1994, Mr.Sattar also founded BRICKLAND LTD, an automatic brick manufacturing plant with a production capacity of 60,000 bricks per day. This company has earned renowned reputation in this country for the very high quality bricks that it produces.

At this moment Mr. Galive Sattar is working on projects in solar sector and in Housing Development.

Engr. Quazi Galive A. Sattar is a Member of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, Member of Army Golf Club, Kurmitola Dhaka, and Member of Dhaka Club. He is a Life Member of Old Rajshahi Cadet Association (ORCA). Engr. Quazi Galive A. Sattar worked a lot during his tenure as the member of these institutions. Engr. Quazi Galive A. Sattar is one of the leading personalities who are working for attracting foreign investment in Bangladesh. He is kind and fair to the vast number of employees working under his organizations and is always ready to offer a helping hand and support, monetary or otherwise, to his staff, as can be collaborated by his colleagues and workers. He is also associated with BIRDEM- one of the biggest hospitals in Bangladesh.

He is married to Dr. Soheli Sattar, Asst. Professor, Dept of Physiology and Molecular Biology, BIRDEM. She is currently doing her PhD. under Dhaka University in collaboration with BIRDEM and Basel University, Switzerland. She is also the Director of the above-mentioned companies. Dr. Soheli Sattar has been involved with cultural activities since childhood.She is a singer by hobby and an adoring pupil of renowned Ustad Shudhin Das of Nazrul Sangeet. She is a member of Gulshan Club and other socio-cultural organizations.

Engr. Quazi Galive Abdus Sattar and his wife are blessed with two loving daughters, elder daughter Samanza Quazi currently studying abroad in Canada and a younger daughter Parsa Quazi studying in Scholastica in Class 9.

In personal life, despite being a successful entrepreneur in the dog-eat-dog business world of Bangladesh, Quazi Galive Abdus Sattar is a family man through and through. In spite of his very busy working schedule, Mr. Galive Sattar has always made the effort to spend quality time with his family. He has and is always there for his family, being it for a small trivial matter or a large one. This, in his family’s opinion, is Quazi Galive Abdus Sattar’s greatest achievement as a man.
