He served as the Chairman of a number of reputed schools, colleges and universities of the country. He is a former Member of Parliament of Dhaka-10, Tejgaon Ramna Area, a former Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Science and Technology, former president, Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB), former Chairman, Tejgaon University College, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College, Inspahani School & College, Wills Little Flower School, Siddheswari University College, Dhaka Medical College & Hospital and Habibullah Bahar University. He is a former syndicate member of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Former President of Bangladesh-Malaysia Friendship Society.
