Country needs honest businessmen, entrepreneurs: Inu

DHAKA:Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, said yesterday that the county badly needed honest businessmen, entrepreneurs and investors.

The minister was speaking at the inauguration of an “Ice Cream Festival” at the city’s Bashundhra International Convention Center.

The minister paid glowing tributes to the founder of the organizing enterprise of the festival “Igloo”, Abdul Momen, and said that his example was worth emulating by others.

Making a reference to the growing consumer class in the country, Inu said that their taste and demand, too, had changed. “This had resulted in new investments and products,” he said.

Referring to the politics of the country, the minister said “The quality of politics in the country was increasingly getting better and a greater number of people were getting its benefits.”

Recollecting “Mujibnagar Day” on April 17 he said “The country was seeing an explosion of new enterprises and products because the country had attained independence under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”

Referring to the diversity of products, he said “Igloo, alone, had 95 products. Ice cream was no longer a luxury item. It was accessible to all.”

The festival will remain open till Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm, everyday.

Apart from the products, visitors would be entertained with music by the leading bands of the country.
