DHAKA: Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) Chairman Major General Moin Uddin called for strengthening safety measures to protect all establishments, equipment, vehicles and goods in the wake of recent dreadful attacks in Gulshan cafe, and Sholakia Eid congregation.
“Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board and Palli Bidyut Samitys under the board are very important institutions of the country. Utmost safety of these institutions should be ensured in any situation,” he told a view-exchange at the BREB conference room here on Monday.
Moin Uddin underscored the need for keeping surveillance on all outsiders including strangers, guests and subscribers on all campuses and complexes including BREB and PBS headquarters.
Under the safety measures, CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras, archway gates, metal detectors, should be set up and fire extinguishers should be maintained at the concerned areas, he said.
The BREB chairman urged all high officials of the board and different Palli Bidyut Samitys (PBS) to always remain alert about any untoward incident, a press release said here today.
He also called for making all-out efforts to continue uninterrupted electricity services to around 1.56 crore subscribers under rural electrification programme.
