BNP-Jamaat engaging in conspiracy whenever they have opportunity: Hanif

DHAKA: Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif said the conspiracy of BNP-Jamaat has not stopped as they were involved in conspiracy whenever they got a chance.

“BNP-Jamaat hatched conspiracy centering setting fire on the paddy field
… The incident of setting fire on paddy field, which went viral through
Facebook, was not in Bangladesh. It was the incident of Punjab in India where
a wheat field was set ablaze,” he said.

He was addressing a seminar titled “Homecoming of Sheikh Hasina and
Prosperous Bangladesh in Progress of Women: Contributions of Sheikh Hasina”
at AL office in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.

Hanif said it already has been unveiled that how a Khulna BNP leader
provoked the jute mill workers.

He urged the law enforcement agencies to arrest those, who were spreading
propaganda centering setting fire on paddy fields and misguiding jute mill

Noting that the women folk had progressed much in Sheikh Hasina’s
Bangladesh, the AL leader urged the party leaders and activists to do
politics being imbued with the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Chaired by Professor Sultana Safi, the seminar was addressed by AL
Presidium Member Matia Chowdhury, educationist Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury and
former state minister for women and children affairs Meher Afroze Chumki,
among others.

Professor Syed Anwar Hossain presented the keynote paper at the seminar.
