Black to release its next album next month

Staff Correspondent : The long wait of the fans of rock music band Black would end soon as it will release its latest album titled “Black” in the coming Eid-Ul-Fitr, members of the band told New Age.

People in the music industry expect that the album, the fourth solo of the band, will be a hit.

‘At least the cheerful welcome from the fans when the announcement was made public at a recent concert, indicate it,’ observed a source in the industry.

A song from the upcoming album titled Hath Barao was also presented at the concert.

Talking to New Age on Wednesday, the Black members spoke about this latest album as well as their plans. 

‘The recording of the tracks is complete. Only the selection phase is in progress… we have recorded a total of 15 tracks and will include 12 more tracks,’ said Jahan, guitarist of the band.

The band is going to release rest of the tracks with some upcoming mixed albums.

‘The album is going to be a big surprise for the fans as Jon has played guitar in six tracks of the album along with me,’ added Jahan.

While talking about this special feature of the album, Jon, vocal of Black, said, ‘I used to play guitar even before I started singing. But I never felt the urge of playing it publicly since the band has a very talented guitarist like Jahan. Now we have introduced songs in the upcoming album which cannot be covered by a single guitar. So I picked up my guitar and it was fun playing it in the recording studio.’

The album, titled “Black”, will entertain

the audience with pure flavour of rock, said Jahan.

The band hit the ground of the country’s rock music scenario with the release of their first single “Chena Dukkho”, featured in a mixed album titled “Chharpotro” in 2001. Over the years, the band has gained immense fan and released three solo albums— “Amar Prithibi” (2002), “Utshober Por” (2003) and “Abar” (2008) and 16 singles in mixed albums.

With several changes in line up since the formation of the band in 1995, the band is now settled with four members — Jon Kabir on vocal and guitar, Mushfeque Jahan on guitar, Mehmood Tony on drums and Rafiqul Ahsan Titu

on bass.
