Staff Correspondent: Bank Asia Exchange Company (UK) Limited, a venture of Bank Asia, recently started its operation in London aimed at ensuring safe migration and transfer of the expatriates’ earned money to Bangladesh.
The exchange company will provide modern banking facilities including instant money transfer to Bank Asia, instant cash withdrawal from nine other banks, next day account transfer to 12 banks, bank transfer to all other banks within shortest possible time for onward delivery to the recipients of the remittance through its nation-wide outlets, said a press release.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman formally inaugurated the exchange house near Westminster in London on June 24.
Lutfur Rahman, executive mayor of Tower Hamlets, Bank Asia Chairman A Rouf Chowdhury, Vice Chairmen Mohd. Safwan Choudhury and Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Irteza Reza Chowdhury, deputy managing director of the bank, Iqbal Ahmed, former chairman of British-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce (BBCC), among others, were present on the occasion.
The Bank Asia provides a wide range of financial services including Islami Banking, SME financing, e-banking, ATM, and brokerage house using modern technologies.
It has 54 branches, 2 SME/Agriculture branches and 10 SME service centre in the country.
