All set to make Prime Minister’s visit to Mushiganj success

MUNSHIGANJ: The local administration has taken all out preparations centering the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to see for herself the progress of the country’s largest infrastructure project Padma Bridge.

Centering the visit of the Primer, a gleeful environment is prevailing in the area and the local people are eagerly waiting to see her. People of different professions are in a festive mood ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Local lawmaker and former whip of Jatiya Sangsad Professor Shagufta Yeasmin Amily said the people of the area are very happy centering her (Prime Minister) visit. “The construction of the Padma Bridge is a long-awaited dream for us. The dream is being come to true due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We, the people of Munshiganj, are grateful to her,” she added.

Deputy Commissioner Shyala Farzana told BSS that all out preparations have been completed centering the visit of the Prime Minister. “The final security coordination meeting was also held to this end. The Prime Minister was earlier scheduled to visit the Padma Bridge construction site on Saturday. But the premier will now visit the site on Sunday due to inclement weather,” she added.

District Police Super said tight security has been taken marking the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inspect the construction sites of the much-awaited Padma Bridge at Mawa in Mushiganj, Janzira in Shariatpur and Shibchar in Madaripur on Sunday to see for herself the progress of the mega project,” Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) sources told BSS today.

The prime minister is scheduled to address a “Sudhi Samabesh” (civic rally) at Mawa Golchattar adjacent to Mawa Toll Plaza at 11.15 am.

In the afternoon, the prime minister will visit the Janzira end of the bridge and first unveil the plaque of the progress work of the bridge on the Janzira side. She will later inaugurate the construction work of the rail link (Janzira side).

Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, will then go to Shibchar and address a public meeting to be organized by her party at Iliyas Ahmed Chowdhury Ferry Ghat at Kathalbari in Shibchar upazila.

Local Awami League leaders in Munshiganj are spending hectic time taking preparations for public meeting in the town. Way side meetings will also be held to welcome Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Leaders from adjacent districts and upazilas and people from six upazilas in Munshiganj will attend the meeting.
