Staff Correspondent: Through a launching ceremony, Bengal Foundation brought out popular singer Aditi Mohsin’s latest album Sokha Tomare Paile at the auditorium of Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts at Dhanmondi in the city on 21 July.
The album features a total of 12 songs, written by poets Atulprasad Sen, Dwijendralal Roy and Rajanikanta Sen.
The ceremony included formal launching of the album and a solo musical soiree by Aditi Mohsin.
Veteran litterateur Syed Shamsul Haq unveiled the cover of the album.
Subir Chowdhury, director of Bengal Foundation, opened the programme with his welcome speech.
“The songs of Atulprasad Sen, Dwijendralal Roy and Rajanikanta Sen have always played a key role in encouraging the Bengali nationalism. I congratulate Aditi Mohsin for working on these inspirational songs of all time,” said Subir Chowdhury.
Syed Shamsul Haq formally unveiled the cover of the album and spoke highly of the album.
Before her solo musical journey, Abul Khair, chairman of Bengal Foundation, greeted the artiste with a bouquet of flowers.
The featured songs of the album are Jabo na jabo na ghore, Ogo nithur dorodi, Ami bandhinu tomar tire, Ke tumi bosi nodikule, Mor aji gantha holo na, Amra emni esey bhesey jai, Ekbar galbhora ma daakey, Sey keno dekha dilo re, Aji tomar kachhey, Jagao Pothikey, Sokha tomare paile aar and Jodi morome lukaye robey.
Durbadal Chattopadhyay has directed the music of the album.
At the second segment of the programme, Aditi Mohsin, in her solo musical evening, rendered a few songs from her latest album.
She also presented a few popular songs of hers at the musical soiree.
