Mr. A.K.M Nurul Fazal Bulbul is a very well known personality of the country. A man of versatile qualities Mr. Nurul Fazal Bulbul is currently carrying out his responsibility as the Chairman, Board of Audit, Exim Bank Ltd, a leading private Commercial Bank in Bangladesh. He is also an Honorable Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, FBCCI, the highest apex body of Business people. Born in a respectable Muslim Family at Tikatuli in the capital city of Dhaka in 1960 Mr. Nurul Fazal Bulbul’s Father’s name is Mr. Mafijun Nur who was a high official of the then East Pakistan and also carried out his responsibilities as cadre service official in post independence period of Bangladesh. Mr. Nurul Fazal Bulbul’s Grand Father was also a very honest one who did not join with the post of a police officer of the erstwhile British Government rather being inspired with the ideology of Khilafat and Non-Cooperation movement. He dedicated himself by doing job in noble profession teaching in 1920. Mr. Bulbul had been living at Tikatuli for the last five decades although they had to live for few months at Gulshan, his paternal house during the days of Liberation War in 1971. At present he has been living at DOHS, Banani along with his wife, son and two daughters. His wife is a former APP of Dhaka Bar and Later on she became Notary Public. Although Mr. Nurul Fazal Bulbul was born in Dhaka but his main origin is as a person of middle class educated family of village Aralia under Gazaria thana of Munshigonj district.
A member of the Board of Directors of Exim Bank Ltd. Mr. Bulbul is also carrying out his responsibility as the Secretary General of Exim Bank Foundation and alongside this, he is also involved in Sunlife Insurance Company Ltd, Islami University, Bangladeshi Cancer Society, Anjuman Mufidul Islam, Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, Fazilatunnesa-Nur-Foundation and other socio-cultural organizations.
A renowned Management Consultant Mr. Bulbul did his B.Com (Hon’s), M.Com from University of Dhaka in 1985 and also did his higher degree in Law Profession. He later on joined with the Supreme Court Bar as a Law professional.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Nurul Fazal Bulbul was a young central Secretariat Member of Bangladesh Awami League and involved himself with the national politics in the nineties. Earlier in the Eighties he was the Central President of Bangladesh Chatra League. He was the founder member of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum 1994.
Now he is the President of Bangladesh Handball Federation. Govt. recently appoints him as “Chef-de-Mission” to Commonwealth Games-Delhi-2010 for Bangladesh Sports Contingent.
He receives Award’s to contribute sports from “Hazi Sharitullha Gold Medel-2009″ and Abu Zafar Obaidullaha Award-2010. he got Bank’s Award-2010 as best Bank’s Sponsor’s Director.
Govt. gave him CIP status in the year 2008-2009. His contribution to SR activities in the Bangladesh is remarkable. He is the Founder of FBCCI Foundation General Secretary of Exim Bank Foundation. He is the Private Sector Representative to Central Jakat Board as well as representing Bangladesh to OIC Business forum and newly elected Director of SARC Chamber of Commerce.
