M H Dulal: Actually I just want to share my experience as I was one of the eye witnesses of this tragic incident which took place on August 4, 2014(Monday) at 11 am.I boarded on a Ferry named Sha Ali which left at 9-15 a.m that means 15 minutes earlier of the ill- fated launch that carried about 3oo passengers although its real capacity was only 85. As I used to go my home at Shibchar occasionally I had bitter experience regarding the bad dealings of the ijaradars and their associates. They do not pay heed to anybody else regarding overloading. Even the law enforcers are also indifferent to this matter. They do not carry out their duty perfectly which is mysterious to some extent. It is only the profit mongers are responsible that could be understood so easily. Neither the BNP nor the AL government did the right thing in the past. The goons and mastan like people take over the charge as ijaradars and they do everything for having extra profit. For that why this type of tragic mishap happens in this route. As I was one of the eyewitnesses of this incident firs ever in my life I could not forget it as of now. I was standing on the 2nd floor of the ferry leaning against a small window. All on a sudden I heard a hue and cry at the 1st floor and tried to see what happened there. When I looked at through the window half a km away from our ferry I saw a passenger carried launch was going under water so swiftly and with in a very short span of time it sank completely. Some sea boats and trawlers went their so rapidly and started to rescue the people who were fighting against the strong current and big waves. I was quite at a loss and could not decide what to be done at that time. Later on I hired a ticket of a BRTC AC bus and reached the capital at 1 p.m. AS a member of the media my personal opinion regarding this is an exemplary punishment needs to be awarded to those who are involved with this man made organised killing. Otherwise such type of sad incidents will happened by those killers in future too.
